Kenyan Premier League has come up with official measures to deal with sports betting within the league.
The league is considering to commissioning sports betting data company, Sports Radar, to monitor the betting trends in the local league.
KPL Chief Executive Officer Jack Oguda told the KPL official portal that league was in the process of acquiring investigative officers to probe any arising match fixing allegations as resolved in the meeting.
-We want to come up with a betting code to govern this betting craze especially among players and referees. This code will be incorporated into players’ contracts and will be signed by club officials and referees. said Oguda.
-We are also negotiating with IPOA (Independent Policing Oversight Authority). We have asked them to give us three investigative officers to help us probe incidents of suspected match fixing, he added.
