Agent rules out Jol's leaving Al Ahly

The agent of Al Ahly manager Martin Jol insists that the Dutchman will not be leaving the club any time soon.

Martin Jol has come under fire from Al Ahly fans following the club’s elimination from the CAF Champions League – a tournament they have won a record eight times – as well as a humiliating loss to arch rivals Zamalek in the Egyptian Cup final last week.

It was reported in Egyptian media that the Dutchman was on the verge of quitting the club, especially after a group of Al Ahly supporters stormed the team’s training session on Tuesday, but Jol’s agent Mohamed El-Habashy has denied these allegations.

-Jol is the Al Ahly manager until now, news reports about his resignation aren’t true, El-Habashy is quoted on KingFut.

This follows news that Al Ahly’s director of football, Abdel-Aziz Abdel-Shafy ‘Zizo’, has resigned from his post. Zizo served on the club’s board which hired Martin Jol earlier this year.

Final match

Al Ahly will play their final Champions League group stage match next midweek against ASEC Mimosas in Ivory Coast. Jol is expected to be in charge for the trip to West Africa.
