KPL Top 8: Theatrical ‘Onyango’ apologizes to Gor Mahia fans

Following their 1-0 defeat to Muhoroni Youth in the Top 8 Cup finals on Sunday 16 October 2016 at the Nyayo National Stadium, Gor Mahia’s fitness trainer Sandro Onyango Fantoni has apologized to their fans for not delivering the trophy.

K’ogalo were the favorites going into the clash but Kennedy Rono’s 62th minute goal proved the difference in a clash that was marred with K’ogalo fans’ displaying hooliganism.

Angry but…..

However speaking to, Onyango stated that though he is very angry with the outcome, he apologizes on behalf of the team as they look to put the disappointment behind and prepare for the next match.

-This is soccer. We made a lot of chances at goal, we had opportunities to score but we did not and we lost the match. It is called soccer but now I’m very angry. Tusker is a good team and we hope we win the League for the supporters because they are very good people and we play for them. We fight in every match and this is the philosophy of Ze Maria that says in every match we fight and today we fought but we did not win.

-I am very sorry for the supporters because we did not win this trophy and we hope we win the league and the supporters know that we fight and we will do so to win the League.
