The Top 8 Cup final pitting Gor Mahia and Muhoroni Youth on Sunday 16 October at the Nyayo National Stadium concluded with K'ogalo supporters invading the pitch and interrupting the match.
This was prompted by a physical face off between Kenya Premier defending champions' trainer Sandro Onyango Fantoni almost come to blows with KPL official GMT Ottieno during
the last minute of the match.
As promised, the Kenya Premier League Limited has not taken these actions lying down and has proceded to carry out its investigations. According to their KPL official portal, Onyango has questions to answer due to unsporting conduct and his case has hence been forwarded to the Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC).
-The Kenyan Premier League has on Wednesday 19 instituted proceedings against Sandro Fantoni before the Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) for misconduct.
The specific charge against Fantoni is that on Sunday, 16 October during the 2016 KPL Top 8 Knockout Tournament final between Muhoroni Youth and Gor Mahia at Nyayo Stadium:
(I) Fantoni engaged in unsporting conduct and provoked a Muhoroni Youth official during the pre-match warm up, an act contrary to Rules 7.1 (ix) and 7.7 of the Rules of Kenyan Football, and
(II) Fantoni engaged in a fight with KPL official GMT Ottieno during the last minute of the match or thereabouts, an act that is contrary to Rules 7.1 (ix) and 7.7 of the Rules of Kenyan Football

The Gor fitness coach will appear before the IDCC in due course for a hearing of the case.
