One of the most useless things they say, is the ‘AY’ in the word ‘OKAY’. The second is the tie involving Southampton against Manchester United.
Manchester United make a trip to the Saint Mary’s and are certainly less interested in getting anything out of this one. Already, Jose Mourinho and his men have fallen off the race for the top four, willingly so, with the United manager indicating that he is solely focused on clinching the Europa League, which is up in a few days.
United has gone 4 matches without a victory, the most recent being a 2-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur. There is little motivation for United to break a sweat against Southampton, and they are likely to field a youthful side in this one.
Southampton was on a retrogressive run in recent weeks, going 5 matches without victory, but a 2-1 victory over relegated Middlesbrough was enough to bring back Claude Puel and his men to winning ways. The Saints have had an underwhelming season by their own standards, and will be keen to get maximum points from the two ties left, including the one tonight.
Expect a boring exchange tonight, with fewer goals being scored and Southampton coming out on top.
