Liverpool have accepted a £5 million bid from Lazio for midfielder Lucas Leiva
The Brazilian’s 10-year stay at Anfield is set to end following a £5million approach. The 30 year has been given permission to travel and discuss personal terms with the Serie A side and undergo a medical ahead of a possible move to Italy. He was heavily linked with a move to Lazio's Serie A rivals Inter Milan but the switch never materialised.
The versatile midfielder is in the final 12 months of his Liverpool current and has faced an uncertain future after Jurgen Klopp admitted in May that he had ‘no idea’ whether Lucas had played his last game for Liverpool.
Lucas is Liverpool's longest-serving player, having joined the club for £5m in July 2007 from Gremio and has made 346 appearances during his decade at Liverpool, last season playing 31 times in midfield and central defence.
