West Ham are said to have agreed terms in principle with Javier Hernandez on a £16m transfer.
It is now upon Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham to agree terms over the next 48 hours with the German side looking for extra add-ons.
According to reports, the Mexico international's representatives have already outlined personal terms.
It will be a return to the Premier League for the 29-year-old, who enjoyed four seasons at Manchester United - winning two Premier League titles in that time.
Hernandez will reportedly fly to London to complete a medical and sign by the end of the week if a fee can be agreed with Leverkusen.
West Ham are also said to be finalising terms with Stoke City over the £24m transfer of Marko Arnautovic who is due to have a medical ahead of linking up with his new team-mates.
The 28-year-old is expected to sign a four-year contract and will become West Ham's record signing.
Stoke will receive £20m up front, with the remaining £4m dependent on the Hammers achieving Europa League qualification.
