AFC Leopards head Coach Robert Matano has denied claims that he still coaching National Super League side Bidco United and has revealed that he only offers advice and guidance to the side whenever they approach him.
Matano joined Bidco in early May as the head coach but was snapped by AFC Leopards in July after Dorian Marin failed to last at the den. Matano has guided Ingwe to two straight wins since taking over but reports have been going round that he is still in charge at Bidco.
Speaking after Leopards beat Bidco United 2-1 in Round of 16 tie in Thika, Matano termed Bidco and Leopards his teams. He then went on to explain that two weeks was a short period for him to get over a team he was attached to.
-They are all my teams (Leopards and Bidco) and the best teams won. Am saying Bidco is my team because I picked it when it was struggling and I have helped them to improve. It is still my team and two weeks cannot change the fact that it was my team, he told Futaa.
-I am not the head coach. Their coach is Anthony (Akhulia) but whenever they need my advice I give them. They had not fully cleared me. I am however available whenever they need advice and guidance, he added.
Matano third match in charge of AFC Leopards will see them face tough rivals, Western Stima.
