The best forwards in the Premier League

Every top team requires a clinical finisher or a tricky winger to torment the opposition defences and bury the chances when it presents itself.

With so many great players, it is no easy task to select the best 5. However, in this article,I attempt to rank the top 5 forwards in the Premier League at the moment.

5. Romelu Lukaku

Lukaku will be looking to continue his goalscoring form at Manchester United
Manchester United pulled the rug from under Chelsea when they managed to snap up Romelu Lukaku from Everton for a fee of £75 million. While many baulked at the fee United paid Everton, there is no denying the fact that Lukaku is one of the most feared strikers in the Premier League. One among the only 5 players to score 50 Premier League goals before his 23rd birthday and the fourth player to score 80 goals before his 24th birthday, Lukaku at a young age already has considerable experience of playing in the League and is seen as a player similar to Drogba in his ability and style of play.

4. Kun Aguero

Undoubtedly one of Manchester City's greatest ever players, Sergio Aguero will be looking to reassert himself as City's main man this season. After the arrival of Gabriel Jesus, Aguero has been relegated to the bench on certain occasions although we might see the duo start together under Pep Guardiola this season.
Quite simply put, Aguero when fit, is the best striker in the Premier League. Capable of jinking past defenders with ridiculous ease and an excellent finisher, the Argentine striker has in his 6-year stay at the Premier League has consistently scored more than 20 goals every season. Even last season, the former Atletico Madrid man managed to grab an astonishing 33 goals in 45 appearances for the Citizens in all competitions.

3. Alexis Sanchez

Easily Arsenal's best player last season, Alexis Sanchez has been heavily linked with an exit from the Emirates. With his contract running out in 2018, a host of clubs are said to be interested in the Chilean, but Arsene Wenger has rightly been firm in not selling the hard working forward.
Capable of playing as a false 9, striker or as a winger, Sanchez with his energetic and tenacious displays almost single-handedly kept Arsenal in the race for a top 4 finish. Winner of Arsenal's Player of the Season award, Sanchez scored and created plenty of goals for the Gunners and truly established himself as a world class forward last season.A player of Sanchez's calibre and skill definitely deserves to be playing in the Champions League and challenging for top trophies and it is upto Wenger and the Arsenal board now to convince the Chilean superstar of their ambition for the 2017/18 season.

2. The Hurricane

Harry Kane's goalscoring exploits have been simply phenomenal for Tottenham Hotspur
Golden Boot winner Harry Kane is definitely among the best strikers in world football at the moment. Having scored more than 20 goals in each of his 3 previous seasons, Kane has proved that he can consistently bang in goals against all opposition.
Capable of scoring tap-ins and absolute world class goals, Kane is England's next big hope and Tottenham will be hoping that their striker under the guidance of Pochettino guides them to an elusive Premier League title in the 2017/18 season.

1. Eden Hazard

Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard once again showed last season why he is so highly rated. Touted to be a future Ballon d’Or winner, Hazard displayed ample amount of class and was the standout attacking player for Antonio Conte’s Premier League winning Chelsea side.

Hazard’s stats in the 2016/17 season have been absolutely outstanding in the Premier League. With 16 goals and 5 assists, the Belgian attacking midfielder time and again popped up with important contributions in big matches. Capable of beating opposition defenders with ease and setting up chances for team-mates, Hazard provides the creative spark and is often the key to unlock stubborn defenses.
