Southampton have reportedly completed the signing of former Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina.
The English side unveiled their latest acquisition on Tuesday evening after successfully convincing the Serie A giants to let go of the 23-year-old for £18m (initial £16m plus £2m in add-ons), which set the record as Southampton’s most expensive transfer fee to date.
In the press conference following the penning of the five-year deal, Lemina expressed his delight at moving to the St Mary’s Stadium, with Saints executive director Les Reed adding that acquiring the midfield maestro made sense since he “is an outstanding talent who has already achieved a great deal” in his young career.
The Gabon international was an integral part of Massimiliano Allegri’s squad, evidenced by the two Serie A and Coppa Italia titles the former Marseille standout won with the Old Lady.
