EX KPL champions celebrate outstanding skipper

Kenya Premier League former champions Sofapaka are celebrating their stand out skipper Hillary Echesa who has been an important cog in their rather positive 2017 league campaign.

Echesa rejoined Sofapaka in the June transfer window from Chemelil Sugar FC and the journeyman and is currently the skipper.  He started his playing career with Transcom FC while still a form two student in Nakuru at the age of 16.

Well traveled Player?

The experienced midfielder has played for close to 15 professional teams. From Kenyan giants Tusker FC, Ulinzi stars, Tanzania outfits Simba FC, Young Africans, Rayon Sport (Rwanda) to the Middle East. He has had stints in Indonesia (Deltras fc), Syria, and Malaysia (MP Maur), wining the top tier league with the latter in 2007.

-The soft spoken midfielder has 15 Kenyan national team caps to his name. He featured in a game against Nigeria in the 2010 World Cup qualifiers at Kasarani stadium in November 2009 with a couple of other matches, the club statement continued.

Echesa clocked full ninety minutes in their last match against Thika United which they won 3-0.
