No resting for Leopards midweek opponents

Mathare United intensified training for their midweek clash against AFC Leopards despite the weekend match moved forward by the Kenya Premier League.

The clash comes in the wake of Mathare's four wins from Ingwe, their last win came in 2014 when Whyvonne Isuza and Harisson Mwenda scored and reduced Humphrey Mieno’s goal to consolation. In their 2016 league meetings, Obadiah Ndege goal was cancelled by Andrew Tololwa’s penalty in the first leg meeting while Kepha Aswani’s controversial goal canceled out the David Mwangi’s goal in the second leg.

Another draw?

All the last four meetings between these two sides have ended in draws. This adds the tally of draws in the last 14 meetings to seven. AFC Leopards has beaten Mathare United three times and their last win came four years ago. Jonas Nahimana and Martin Imbalambala scored a goal each for a 2-0 win for the Big Cats in July 2013. The other two wins came in 2012, a 4-2 win and 2-0 win in the first leg.

Mathare United has 13 goals in the last 19 league matches.
