Manchester City have reportedly made positive progress in their pursuit of West Brom defender Jonny Evans.
City boss Pep Guardiola has been in the market for one more defensive specialist in order to fully rectify the problem the English side had with their back-line last season - a development which led the tactician to eye the Baggies star.
West Brom chief Tony Pulis initially went on record to say that Evans wouldn’t be leaving because the Irishman is an integral part of his squad. Sources however claim that the manager is now considering to have a change of heart and is looking to acquire City defender Eliaquim Mangala on a season-long loan, which would allow the 29-year-old to leave.
If City comply, then nothing will be in their way as West Brom are rumoured to be satisfied with the £30m that Pep had made for the skipper.
