Renato Sanches completed his loan move from Bayern Munich to Swansea on Thursday, choosing jersey number 85 which was immediately rejected by Premier League.
Without any argument Swansea City’s deadline move to sign Sanches on loan is one of the best Premier League deals of the summer. Sanches was determined to remember those good times now he's at Swansea. Because he initially chose to wear the number 85 shirt for the club, which is the same number he wore in Lisbon.
No-one has ever worn a higher number in the Premier League before, but after Swansea tweeted the news of the new number, they were soon forced to correct themselves. Premier League rule states that, - Squad numbers must be consecutive and close to the current highest number. This forced Swansea to give their new signing jersey number 35 changing it from 85.
