After being forced to train alone for most of the summer, Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk has returned to training with the first team.
The 26 year old's dream of moving away from St Mary's side during the last window was shut as his club blocked the move. Despite all of his efforts, including a transfer request and a lengthy explanation, the defender was forced to remain with the Saints past deadline day, much to his disappointment.
Back to business
The Dutch international had set his mind to join Liverpool but it believed that he could have agreed to join either Chelsea or Arsenal if any of the two came knocking. With the International break over, Premier League is set to resume this weekend and the defender has been photographed training with Southampton's first team again.
However how much he might be disappointed, there's no point in remaining on the periphery with a World Cup year approaching.
