NSL Review: Isibania sole winners as leading pack contend with dropped points

A tough outing it was for the National Super League promotion chasing trio of Vihiga United, Ushuru and Nairobi Stima who registered winless outcome from the midweek NSL ties played this Wednesday 6 September across the country.

Leaders Vihiga United, looking to bounce back from previous defeat to Stima could only manage a 1-1 draw from their Mombasa trip against Modern Coast.

Stima reaps

The same outcome was witnessed in Stima- Ushuru tie in a clash that was to shape the early promotion battle. Benson Amianda strike was cancelled out by Patrick Mugendi.

The draws has Stima remaining unbeaten in two successive games against their direct promotion opponents.

Simon Abuko's penalty was enough to hand KCB a share of spoils against Kibera Black Stars as Talanta also drew AllStars in a one-all  the scoreline.

Agrochemicals also held City Stars to a similar score line.

Sole winners

Isibania FC rode a Marcus Abwao Jnr brace and Ismail Abdalla goal to emerge as the only winners in a 3-1 victory over AP.

Vihiga remains top of the table with 51 points from 23 games. Ushuru come in second with 47 points with a game in hand.
