Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has reportedly revealed that he is displeased with skipper Vincent Kompany.
The Spaniard is rumoured to have become ‘furious’ on learning that the Belgian had picked up a calf injury on international duty, which rendered the centre-back unavailable for the triumphant 5-0 victory against Liverpool last weekend.
Kompany played for the full duration of Belgium’s 9-0 demolition of Gibraltar on August 31, a development which aggravated what was then a slight bump into a serious injury, which risks keeping the veteran sidelined for the start of City’s Champions League campaign to Pep’s displeasure.
Rumours have since surfaced suggesting that Pep is looking to replace the injury prone 31-year-old with fellow countryman and Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld come next summer.
