Vihiga United assistant coach Francis Xavier has admitted that Wazito FC gave them a good fight in the 1-0 win over the Frank Ouna coaches side in a National Super League match played at Mumias Sports Complex on Sunday 10 September.
A Clyde Senaji late goal from the spot helped Vihiga overcome fellow promotion chasers. Despite the win over his former side, Xavier has admitted that the clash closely fought.
-It was a tough match just as we had anticipated. Both teams played very well, we had our moments, Wazito had theirs luckily we carried the day. I am glad we picked three points after two winless matches, he told Futaa.com.
Vihiga sits at the helm of the NSL log with 54 points.
