Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is reportedly looking to exit the English side when his current deal with the club expires next summer.
Sources claim that the German has not sought out a new deal ever since contract negotiations between him and the Gunners management fell through in February - a development which suggests that the midfield maestro has his mind set on leaving.
It is rumoured that Ozil turned down a new £8.1m-a-year contract, which would have kept the former Real Madrid ace at the Emirates for the foreseeable future. The 28-year-old has also recently been under fire from club legends for his inconsistent outings, a matter that is likely to strengthen the playmaker’s resolve to call it quits.
Ozil’s imminent departure would undoubtedly be a huge blow to Arsenal since the midfield specialist would be leaving for nothing, ruining boss Arsene Wenger’s chances of making any profit from the £42.5m the Gunners paid Real Madrid for the offensive-minded player in 2013.
