SoNy Sugar FC will miss the services of Ugandan forward George Abege when they take on AFC Leopards in a Kenyan Premier League match on Wednesday 13 September at the Kericho Green Stadium; the attacker lost his mother hours before Sunday 10 September 2-0 win over Tusker FC at the Awendo Green Stadium.
Abege went ahead to score the two goals against the Brewers to help his side move up the log. He will however miss the match against Ingwe as he has been granted compassionate leave by the club. Coach Salim Babu admits the forward's absence is a huge blow for is side but is banking on striker Yemi Mwana who has returned from injury to deliver against Robert Matano's side.
-It is a huge blow to us since Abege has been one of our dependable players this season. His combination with Asembeka in the last match was superb, and it would have been interesting to see a continued partnership against AFC Leopards. Yema is back and he has also been brilliant in the past. I have faith in my team and I am sure that we can bag points on the road now that we have another match on Sunday against Western Stima, he said.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 1400 hrs.
