Hard-fighting Muhoroni holds Posta at Ruaraka

Bottom placed Kenyan Premier League side Muhoroni Youth earned a point after forcing a barren draw against Posta Rangers in a Kenyan Premier League match played at Ruaraka Grounds on Wednesday 13 September.

Muho went into the game in dire need of a win in order to move from the foot of the table and picked a point after frustrating the hosts for the better part of the  match.

The mailmen were better from the onset pinning James Omondi's side to their own half. They had two chances in the opening three minutes; the first saw Dennis Mukaisi's shot from the edge of the area fly over the bar while Simon Mbugua's attempt was saved by Muho keeper Sowedo. Mukaisi had another chance in the 6th minute but his attempt from yards outside the area went over.

Thomas chance

Muho grew in confidence as time tickled and got the best chance of the first half in the 16th minute which Thomas Venval failed to convert. The forward was put through on goal and with only Patrick Matasi on Posta goal to beat, he hesitated giving Posta defenders time to clear the danger. The chances dried towards the break with most of the action concentrated in midfield.

Strong restart

Muho started strongly after the interval in search of the opener. They had a good opportunity in the 50th when Farouk Mudoola picked Venval with a pin point cross only for the forward to miss from a yard out.  Maxwell Onyango missed another another of Mudoola's dangerous deliveries shooting over from the edge of the area.

At the other end Jerry Santos shot over while Gerishon Likono's shot was saved by SowedoJockins Atudo saw his header from a John Nairuka free-kick miss the target by inches with Sowedo well beaten. Dennis Mukaisi's bullet header came off the upright in stoppage time
