Wise: We need the points more than Tusker

Mathare United captain George 'Wise' Owino feels that his team wants more points than Tusker and further believes that the high confidence in the camp will help them overcome the champions when they clash at Ruaraka on September 17.

Tusker won their midweek clash against highflying Sofapaka 2-1 while Mathare succumbed to a 3-0 Kariobangi Sharks drubbing. Owino feels that though the Brewers train at Ruaraka the fact that they have played more home matches there gives their opponents no advantage at all.

-Their confidence is high after winning in midweek but this is like a home match to us. They train there but we have also played all our home matches there so that will not give them any advantage. We have been getting positive results at Ruaraka and we want to continue with that, Owino told the club portal.

Owino hopes a good result will ensure the Slum Boys gets out of relegation. The skipper admits he will breathe a sigh of relief when they shall be playing without worrying how the teams below them performs.

Not Yet Safe

-Our performance in the last match was not bad. It’s just that we did not get the result we wanted. We cannot say we are safe until we get into a situation where we play without worrying about the teams below us.

-This is a very important match because we need a positive result to completely move out of the relegation zone. We need the points more than they need them, he added.
