Kenyan midfielder Amos Ekhalie played the entire 90 as his side Mariehamn joined the top five ranks beating their opponents SJK 2-1 in their Finnish top Veikkausliiga on Sunday 1 October at their Wiklöf Holding Arena.
It was however not a walk in the park for the home side as it had to wait for a 60th minute opening goal through a penalty by Aleksei Kangaskolkka.
A 78th minute goal through Finnish midfielder Robin Sid then made matters 2-0 with the match seemingly headed to the finishing line. The visitors however pulled one back after a strong finish courtesy of a Finnich attacker Vahid Hambo in the 99th minute.
The win pushed the club to fifth place with only one point ahead of their weekend rivals. Ekhalie has scored twice this season but has made 25 appearances for the side.
