Bwamy’s return fails to rescue Follo from thumping, relegation

Christian Bwamy’s Division Two League side in Norway Follo FK is almost assured of relegation from the second division after the weekend 8-0 thumping from their opponents Raufoss at the Nammo Stadium.

This will be a huge blow for the Kenyan international who started the match and played for 78 minutes before being replaced by Thomas Torgersen Herskedal. The MYSA product recently made a return to action after a lengthy period on the sidelines with an injury.

The goals flocked in from the 10th minute before Follo tightened their defence for a narrow trail into halftime. Their opponents however cracked the code and smashed in seven in intervals of 10 minutes from the 56th minute and a double in the 90th mark.

No reprieve

It was not done for the club as Sander Østbye had to take over the goalkeeper role making his debut when Skjærstein limped out with injury. Bwamy’s future at the club remain in doubt heading into the last three matches of the season having left after previous relegation.

Christian Bwamy has played alongside other Kenyans Wycliffe Juma (FK Mjolner), Arnold Origi, John Muiruri (FK Moss), and Paul Oyuga (Algard) in the Norway Leagues.
