Kibera Black Stars head coach Godfrey Oduor has admitted that his side's dream of earning promotion to the Kenyan Premier League for 2018 season is quickly diminishing with the team sitting 12th in log 27 points off leaders Vihiga.
After a difficult first leg, Black Stars have shown massive improvement in the second registering notable away wins against Palos FC and league leaders, Vihiga United.
Speaking to Futaa.com, Oduor revealed that his team's target at the start of the second leg was to push to promotion to Kenya's top tier.
-Our target for the second was to get promoted to KPL. Mathematically it was and is still possible, with the signings we made I felt we had a realistic chance of getting promoted to KPL.
-However I have to be a realist, it will be difficult considering the number of games left before the season comes to a close, the second leg is always tougher for all teams. -A good first leg would have put us in a good position for promotion but we are not giving up just yet, we will fight untill it's mathematically impossible, he said.
Oduor has however picked positives from his team's second leg show.
-We are a better team now, more solid defensively and offensively. Our problem in the first was in goalkeeping and defending, we resolved that and I believe we can only get better, he added.
Black Stars was promoted to the NSL at the end of 2016 Division one season.
