Juventus left-back Alex Sandro is reportedly set to a new five-year £6.28m contract to continue his stay with the Serie A giants.
The Brazilian, who had been heavily linked with a mega money move to Chelsea last summer, is considered to be arguably one of the best players in the world at that position and has been on the radar of a number of top-tier sides for some time.
Blues boss Antonio Conte had identified Sandro as the perfect candidate to ensure the continued success of his 3-5-2 formation at wing-back as the defensive specialist would provide more depth than the tactician currently has with the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso.
The 26-year-old’s proposed new deal is a current improvement from the workhorse’s current £2.5m contract, which is set to keep the former Porto star in Turin until 2020, and is rumoured to match Chelsea’s off-season offer - a development that is likely to have the desired effect of keeping the defending Premier League champions at bay.
