Kenyan midfielder Amos Ekhalie featured for 77 minutes of the match as his side IFK Mariehamn maintained a top five place despite going down by a solitary goal to weekend opponents Ilves in their Finnish top Veikkausliiga at the Wiklöf Holding Arena.
Ekhalie has been instrumental to the side helping them remain among the top teams in the competitive league. The lone goal was netted in the 45th minute by L. Ala-Myllymäki to help the side open the gap to seven points ahead of Mariehamn and 20 behind leaders HJK.
Though not a regular, another Kenyan Anthony Dafaa was on the bench in the match having last featured for the fifth placed side on 27th of September against table toppers HJK when he came on for R. Sid in the 16th minute after which they lost by a solitary goal.
