When Kenyan international midfielder McDonald Mariga last enjoyed a full game for his Spanish second tier side Real Oviedo, they beat Cordoba 2-0 on Sunday 22 October at the Estadio Nuevo Carlos Tartiere (Oviedo).
Well, Mariga was back to full 90 on Sunday 5 November helping his side beat second-placed Lugo 3-2 in a tightly contested match at the Estadio Nuevo Carlos Tartiere (Oviedo). This was after playing for 70 minutes during their 0-2 loss a week ago against Alcorcon at the Santo Domingo Stadium (Alcorcón).
Spanish midfielder Aaron Níguez Esclapez netted the winner in the 70th minute to ensure three points for the hosts after Nigerian attacker Ramon Olamilekan Azeez had netted an equalizer 10 minutes earlier for Lugo in what was an end to end contest.
Mariga, however, got booked in the 21 minutes continuing what has been a trend for him over the recent matches where he has been booked in every one of his three matches in the league making him a likely candidate of suspension heading into the next league action against Gimnastic Tarragona.
