Sofapaka FC assistant coach John Baraza says his team has already exceeded their season's target with the side second in the log with 52 points.
Last season Batoto Ba Mungu had to wait until the final day to confirm their safety in the Kenyan Premier League after being in the drop zone for the whole season.
The team's fortunes have since changed for the better and speaking after his side's 1-0 win over Tusker FC on Saturday 11 November, Baraza hailed his troops for what he termed as he said has been a good show all season.
-We really struggled last season but this season has been a different story. I think we have exceeded expectations and this mainly is because of the work put in by the boys in each and every game. The technical bench has done its work too so has the management. I can say the output by everyone at the club has been a major reason why we have performed so well, he said.
The former Sofapaka skipper added that the team is keen on finishing second in the log by winning its final match.
-As shown in our game against Tusker, the boys have been ready for every game this season and the result is there for all to see. We are not done yet this season; we believe we can finish in the second position. It is now in our hands. Ours now is to win our next game and have the number two, he added.
Sofapaka will play Zoo on Saturday 18 November.
