AFC Leopards have confirmed that Burundian striker Alexis Kitenge will return to his parent club, Atletico Olympic once his six-month loan deal comes to an in December.
The attacker who joined Ingwe in June on loan has failed to live to expectations scoring just once in the league. He has come under sharp criticism from fans and other stakeholders and Leopards have opted against signing the attacker permanently.
Speaking to Futaa.com, Club chairman Dan Mule confirmed that the club's technical bench has recommended that the attacker is released at the end of the season.
Kitenge to leave
-We work with the advice we get from the head coach and his bench. They feel that Kitenge will not help the bench much next year and they have advised that we release him at the end of the season. His loan deal expires in December and after that, he will return to his club, Atletico Olympic. Our attack has not been very good and that's an area we will strengthen once the transfer window opens. We have players we have identified and we will look at them at the end of the season, we want to assemble a strong team, Mule told Futaa.com.
Ingwe moved to tenth in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) log after downing Chemelil Sugar on Sunday 12 November at Moi Kasarani Stadium.
