Manchester City is reportedly ready to offer midfielder Raheem Sterling a new £200,000-a-week contract.
Sources from within the Etihad suggest that the Englishman has won the favour of boss Pep Guardiola, who in turn plans to reward the 22-year-old with a significant rise from his current £180,000-a-week wages in order to keep the marksman at the club and ward of the interest of potential suitors.
Sterling has been an integral part of City’s success this season, having registered an impressive seven goals and two assists in nine appearances to help the English side sit pretty atop the current league standings and establish themselves as favourites to land the league’s top honours.
The midfield maestro had been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal last summer as part of a deal to acquire forward Alexis Sanchez but now appears poised to continue his stay with the Cityzens for the foreseeable future.
