Victor Wanyama has revealed that wild celebrations from Celtic fans following his goal against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League left him in fear that the stadium was coming down.
In an interview with Celtic News, Wanyama -who spoke on a host of an issue from scoring goals to personalities during his stay in Glasgow-, recalled the events on the memorable night of November 7 20112 when he bossed Barca and scored a goal against the Catalan side.
After towering at the back post to steer a header home, the Kenyan wheeled away towards the corner flag only to make a U-turn back toward the side of the goal where his teammates caught up.
Stadium coming down
-Yes, that was the biggest and best game against one of the top teams in the world and we played very well as a unit. After I scored in the game I ran towards the fans but when I looked up I thought the stadium was coming down because the movement of the fans celebrating actually scared me! That was the best feeling ever, Wanyama's recounts on the biggest game of his life went.
-We used to train set piece at the training ground and we had a specialist with Charlie. He took a corner and found me at the back post and I headed it into the net. That’s my number 1 goal, the Kenyan added.
Wanyama joined the Scottish giants from Belgium.
