Liverpool winger Sadio Mane reportedly sustained a suspected hamstring injury in their recent 2-0 World Cup qualifier victory against South Africa.
The Senegalese Football Federation broke the disheartening news in a recent press conference, where it was disclosed that the marksman was sidelined by the recurrence of an ‘old injury’.
It was further revealed that the 25-year-old would be allowed to cut short his international duties and return to Anfield in order to receive specialised treatment so as to not risk further aggravating the knock.
This development is undoubtedly a big setback for the Reds since the pacy forward had just returned to action in their recent 4-1 win over West Ham after a month of the sidelines, and now appears set to miss their upcoming clash against Southampton, which is scheduled for this Saturday.
