Arsenal is lining up a £60m move for Lyon talisman Nabil Fekir as they continue to prepare for life after Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, with the pair look no closer to agreeing a contract extension with the Gunners.
Both players' contracts expire next summer and Arsenal is reportedly considering letting the wantaway stars leave in January in order to get a head start on rebuilding their team.
The ?Daily Star claims that Arsenal are interested in Lyon's Fekir, which would be the second time in as many transfer windows that Arsenal has looked to the French club Lyon for potential additions to their squad, after Alexandre Lacazette was signed by Arsenal in the summer for a club record fee.
Arsenal would reportedly break their transfer record once again to land Lacazette's old teammate Fekir, and the report claims that a deal worth up £60m is "almost done."
While few Arsenal fans would relish the prospect of losing either Sanchez or Ozil, Fekir could be an exciting replacement.
The 24-year-old Frenchman has been likened to Lionel Messi for his ability to play as a striker or 'in the hole', while he boasts an impressive 11 goals and four assists in 11 Ligue 1 games this season.
