United star sets new record

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku became Belgium’s all-time leading goalscorer in their 1-0 win over Japan on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old netted the match’s only goal in the 72nd minute via a stunning header, taking his total tally of goals for his native country to 31 - an impressive fete following the brace the marksman scored in their 3-3 draw with Mexico last weekend.

Luk is accustomed to making history, having debuted for Belgium at only the age of 16 in 2010 before going ahead to set another record for his country by scoring 10 goals their 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

The former  Everton star has recently come under fire from a section of Red Devils fans for failing to find the back of the net in their last seven games, but now looks poised to regain his killer form in front of goal once club action resumes.
