Wazito FC and Vihiga United have been promoted to the Kenyan Premier League after defeating Kenya Police and Ushuru FC in their last National Super League (NSL) matches of the season played on Saturday 25 November.
Both teams needed to win in order to secure automatic promotion slots and they did not disappoint downing their opponents. Wazito thrashed Police 5-2 in Narok courtesy of goals from Kennedy Ayako, Dennis Gicheru who grabbed a brace each, Zachary Gathu scored the other goal for Frank Ouna's charges.
In Mumias a Bernard Ochieng bullet header helped Vihiga register a 1-0 win over Ken Kenyatta's Ushuru to secure a top finish in the National Super League (NSL). The Kenyan international fired home in the 23rd minute to secure a KPL slot for Edward Manoah's charges.
Vihiga finish top with 80 points same as Wazito who have an inferior goal difference. Ushuru is third with 78 points and will have to settle for play-off slot.
