Ashley Young scored two superb goals against his former club as Manchester United held on for a 4-2 win away to Watford on Tuesday night.
Young, a product of Watford's academy, scored with a half-volley and a free kick before Anthony Martial added a third. Watford got second-half goals from Troy Deeney and Abdoulaye Doucoure to make it interesting, but Jesse Lingard completed a solo move to seal it.
Making his third straight start in the Premier League, Young provided the opener in the 19th minute after receiving Lingard's pass at the top of the box and popping the ball up in the air with his first touch before sending a laser inside the near post.
And Young made it 2-0 six minutes later a 25-yard free kick from the centre of the pitch that swerved into the side netting.
Martial beat Heurelho Gomes to make it 3-0 in the 32nd minute, and only a spectacular double save from the Watford goalkeeper to deny Romelu Lukaku and Lingard kept the scoreline from being even more one-sided.
United suffered an apparent injury blow as Nemanja Matic limped off the pitch in the 55th minute and was replaced by Ander Herrera.
After Lukaku spurned numerous chances to add to United's lead, Watford showed signs of improvement and earned a penalty in the 76th minute when Marcos Rojo brought down Roberto Pereyra, and Deeney converted the spot kick to make it 3-1.
The hosts' reduced their deficit to one with six minutes to play as Doucoure turned in Andre Carrillo's cross with a first-timed shot to put the pressure on United.
But Lingard responded three minutes later with a remarkable individual effort, making a run that began in United's half and beating a pair of defenders atop the Watford box.
