Ulinzi Stars will recruit players identified during the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) football tournament, Chairman Lt Col Eric Oloo has told Futaa.com.
The Nakuru based side will be keen bolstering its playing unit after a not so good show in the Kenyan Premier League in 2017. They have already identified players to bring on board and according to Oloo, they will rope in players picked during the CDF tournament. All the players identified are below the age of 23.
-We have very good players below the age of 23, they were all picked during the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) football tournament and they will be part of the team next year. I can assure all our supporters that we will have a very strong team next season because we have picked some good unknown players who we believe will fit in easily, he said.
The administrator also revealed that his side's first priority will be beefing up the attack which he says was not sharp in 2017 as the soldiers managed to find the back of the net 37 times.
-Our attack is an area we badly need to strengthen because scoring was a problem for us. We will also strengthen other departments but our forward line will be a priority, we scored very few goals in 2017 and we have to rectify that by signing good forwards, he added.
Ulinzi has already lost their top striker Steven Waruru who is said to be heading to Tusker FC, another forward Sammy Onyango is a Gor Mahia target.
