Tusker FC interim boss Francis Baraza has been named Sjak/Fidelity Insurance coach of the month at an award ceremony held at Ruaraka Grounds on Tuesday 5 December.
Baraza who replaced Ugandan George Nsimbe in October bagged the award through a unanimous vote after leading his team to three wins in October, his team drew the other match. Tusker began their October with a barren draw against Kariobangi Sharks before dispatching Muhoroni Youth, Nakumatt FC and Nzoia Sugar.
It's a month the Ruaraka based side performed better than any other KPL side and Baraza now walks away with Ksh. 75,000 and a personified trophy courtesy of sponsors fidelity insurance. It's the second time Baraza is winning the award after bagging it in August 2016 while in charge of Chemelil Sugar FC.
He becomes the seventh winner of the award this season; former Gor Mahia coach Jose Marcelo Ferreira, Posta Rangers coach Sammy Omollo, Tusker FC's George Nsimbe, former Western Stima coach Henry Omino, Sofapaka's Sam Ssimbwa and Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerry bagged the accolades in March, April and May and June/July, August and September respectively.
The winner of the accolade is selected by a panel of sports journalists under the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) umbrella.
