Antonio Conte has warned Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain that his Chelsea side can cause them massive problems in the knockout stages of the Champions League.
The Blues were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening, which, coupled with Roma’s victory, meant they had to settle for the second spot in Group C and will be unseeded in the last-16 draw.
That means there are only three teams they can face Barca, PSG or Besiktas but Conte has warned the trio of giant clubs they should fear his own side just as much.
-I think when you go through to the next round in the last 16 you must be ready to face the best teams. ‘In this case, there is the draw. After the draw, we will see what happens, which is the team we go to play. ‘I think also our opponent won’t be happy to play against us, Conte said.
The draw for the next round of the Champions League will take place on Monday 11 December in Nyon, Switzerland, with the two-legged matches played across February and March.
