Philippe Coutinho scored a hat-trick as Liverpool sealed their place atop Champions League Group E with a runaway 7-0 win over Spartak Moscow at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Two first-half goals from Coutinho, one from the penalty spot and another at the end of a classy team move, plus a third from Roberto Firmino had Jurgen Klopp's team take a 3-0 lead into the dressing room.
And Liverpool picked up where they left off to start the second half when Sadio Mane smashed a first-time volley from a whipped-in James Milner cross to make it 4-0.
Minutes later, Coutinho completed his hat-trick from close range courtesy of a deflection off of a Spartak defender that left Alexander Selikhov no chance in goal.
The home side made it six on the night on the counter-attack in the 75th minute when Daniel Sturridge slid a low pass across the goalmouth and Mane reached back and poked it home for his brace, before Mohamed Salah finished off the scoring from close range.
