Zanzibar staged a stunning comeback to silence Tanzania 2-1 in and disloge Kenya's Harambee Stars from the top of Group A in thrilling CECAFA Group A clash staged on Thursday 7 December in Machakos County Stadium.
A goal and assist from Kassim Suleiman condemned Kili Stars to their first loss of the tournament as the Islanders extended their fine start to dislodge Kenya from top of Group A. The tie in Machakos saw a cagey first half with both sides opting for guarded approach to the Derby clash.
The opener will come late after Himid Mao broke the deadlock a minute to stroke of half hour mark. Zanzibar came more determined for the final half and pinned Tanzania back to their half.
