Newly promoted Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side, Wazito FC has confirmed the acquisition of former Posta Rangers midfielder Moses 'M30' Otieno a few days after the holding midfielder parted way with the mail-men.
M30, a former Gor Mahia, Nairobi City Stars and Tusker FC midfielder featured for Wazito in Jamhuri Cup clash staged at Moi Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday 12 December, a match the newbies downed Posta Rangers by a solitary goal to lift the trophy.
-I can confirm that Moses Otieno is with us now, there are a few contractual issues we are still ironing out but he will sign for us. He is a good player with Kenyan Premier League experience and we firmly believe he will be of great help to the team, Chairman Solomon Alubala told Futaa.com.
At the same time Alubala revealed that the club is in talks with AFC Leopards for midfielder Harun Nyakha's services and NYTA for Super 8 Premier League MVP Samwel Lemashon. Lemashon scored 21 goals for the Dagoretti based side in 2017.
-We are meeting AFC Leopards today (Wednesday) for Harun Nyakha, Lemashon is also another player we are interested in and talks for his services will take place in the next few days, he added.
Alubala also confirmed that the club has parted ways with three of its longest-serving players. Dickson Ihaji and Kennedy Okanda both defenders will not be part of the set up in 2018 and completing the list is experienced midfielder David 'Grosso' Otieno.
-Ihaji opted to retire after our final NSL match while Grosso and Okanda are not in a position to be fully committed to the team owing of the nature of their work. I can confirm that they are no longer part of the playing unit, Alubala a former Wazito striker concluded.
Wazito under coach Frank Ouna finished second in the National Super League in 2017 earning promotion to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL).
