Patrick Matasi has re-lived a past double penalty save against Ulinzi Stars which he says ranks up there with his recent saving acts that handed Kenya its seventh CECAFA title.
The reigning KPL goalkeeper of the year evidently saved the best for the last when he came up big to keep out three penalties and hand Kenya the title.
A memorable moment, though the keeper opines that occasion wasn't the first time he impacted a game that way.
He once thwarted Ulinzi Stars twice from the spot while lacing his shoes with AFC Leopards.
-I have had a game like this before. Back in 2012 against Ulinzi, i saved two penalties in the game and we got a 2-0 victory, Matasi told futaa.
On his penalty-saving flair, Matasi adds:
-There is secrets to stopping penalties. I remain rooted at my spot as the kicker proceeds to takes his shot. This one has worked for me. The chances of the taker playing it right at you or within your reach are always high. On other hand, you'll give the taker a higher chance of beating you when you make movements as he moves to take, he added.
For his effort, Matasi walked away with both the player of the tournament and golden glove awards.
