Kariobangi Sharks celebrates mentor, role model

Kenya Premier League side Kariobangi Sharks has celebrated Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa who they term as mentor and role model.

Sharks made a successful league debut and finished among top five in the 2017 season.  They also made through in  a rather tricky GOTV Shield tournament where they ended up losing the ultimate trophy to AFC Leopards.

- Today ( yesterday the day which the president was celebrating his birthday) we celebrate a great man, a man who dared dream and started this great team from scratch, a man who decided to believe in the youth and give them the opportunity to make a living out of the beautiful game that is soccer, Sharks said.

Founder

- Today we celebrate not just the founder of this club but a role model, a mentor to many, an inspirational leader and a passionate fan of this team and the game at large. Happy Birthday Mr. Nick Mwendwa. The Sharks family wishes you all the very best in your endeavours, all the joy you can ever have and may you be blessed today, tomorrow and many days to come, the statement continued to read.

Sharks have also contributed a number of players to the national team Harambee Stars.  Pattillah Omotto,  Masoud Juma  and Ovella Ochieng recently participated in the CECAFA Senior Challenge that Kenya won after seven years of drought.
