Chelsea are set to complete their first signing as Everton star Ross Barkley is set to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of his £15 million transfer to the Bridge.
The 24-year-old rejected joining the Blues in the closing stages of the summer window after the Premier League champions and Everton had agreed a fee. But Chelsea have not dropped their interest in Barkley and are now hopeful that they can complete a deal for the midfielder by the end of Friday. According to widespread reports, Barkley was in London on Thursday and is now due to complete a medical and finalise personal terms.
Tottenham also had an interest in signing Barkley, but according to Sky Sports, Spurs are no longer interested in Ross Barkley and have moved on to other targets. Barkley is yet to feature for Everton this season after he required surgery on a hamstring injury, but the midfielder returned to first-team training a few days before Christmas.
