Barcelona reportedly believes that they have the upper hand in the race to sign Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann.
Spanish news outlet Cadena Ser has claimed that the Catalans are ready and willing to meet the striker’s £86m and further offer the Frenchman a bumper five-year deal in order to ensure his move to Camp Nou in the ongoing transfer window.
The report further claims that Barca will also pay the talisman an absurd £425,000-a-week in wages, which will surpass the £400,000-a-week salary the goal-getter is rumoured to have demanded in order to convince him to leave the Rojiblancos for either club.
Atleti is admittedly keen on retaining the linchpin so that he can form a formidable front-line partnership with Diego Costa, but are now under increasing pressure to match offers from the two powerhouses or risk losing the 26-year-old.
