Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has joined West Brom on loan for the remainder of the season.
Newcastle and Serie A side Inter Milan were also keen on signing the 28-year-old, but he has opted to join West Brom on a short-term deal. Sturridge has played just 15 times this season with his last appearance coming in the Champions League tie against Spartak Moscow in early December and as a result he is free to play for West Brom in the FA Cup.
"This felt like the right fit," Sturridge told the club's official website. "I've got friends here I've played with before, the manager spoke very well, the challenge with the team and the style of play, I just felt this was the right fit for me."
Sturridge has 74 Premier League goals in just 114 top-flight starts and manager Alan Pardew believes his arrival is a big coup for the club.
