Three more players have departed Arsenal on transfer day deadline.
Injury-prone and sparingly used French defender Mathieu Debuchy has parted the Gunners after enduring a torrid stay. Debuchy’s move to Manchester United in 2016 was blocked by Arsene Wenger, but the defender has finally secured a move to Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne. St-Etienne announced the deal late Wednesday confirming that the defender had signed a 4-year deal with the club.
Elsewhere, another Ligue 1 side Angers announced the acquisition of rookie Jeff Reine Adelaide for the remainder of the season. Jeff kicked off the season in promising form but a few injury problems and inconsistent form slowed his progression.
It looks set to be a symbiotic relationship as 16th placed Angers will be looking on the youngster to add spark to their wings, while the French international will be hoping to rediscover his form.
Striker Chuba Akpom has moved on loan to Belgian side Sint-Truiden. He’s a striker who needs to get his career properly up and running now and a loan move is ideal for him to get the game time that he so hardly gets at the Emirates.
