Kane: It's crazy the derby only finished 1-0

Harry Kane said it was 'crazy' Tottenham were unable to score more goals during their dominant win over Arsenal on Saturday.

The striker, whose second-half header proved the difference at Wembley, hailed Spurs’ excellent run of form, which has seen them take seven points from their last three games against Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United. Tottenham allowed the Gunners a sniff of a draw after missing a number of golden chances, with Kane, Erik Lamela, Dele Alli and Kieran Trippier all guilty in front of goal. Alexandre Lacazette could have made them pay late on but he squandered two excellent opportunities of his own as Spurs held on for a deserved victory.

“It was a great game, we really played well, especially second half we had plenty of chances after we went 1-0 up,” Kane told Spurs TV. It’s crazy it finished 1-0 but we’ll take it. In these big games you just need that first goal and the spaces open up and you get more chances. That’s what happened, we should have been more clinical, we know that, but we played very well. We kept them quiet until the last five minutes when they piled on the pressure. But overall it was a good day.”

Kane’s goal was his seventh in eight meetings against Arsenal and means Tottenham move seven points clear of their rivals with 11 games left to play.
